At the end of August 2015 I dragged Rebecca to Lesmurdie Falls to get our waterfall fix in for the year. We made the mistake of going to Serpentine Falls during the summer…the dry season…and it wasn’t much to look at.

Lesmurdie Falls is located in the Mundy Regional Park in the Perth Hills suburb of Forrestfield.

We actually managed to get lost. Crossing the Lesmurdie Brook we headed north, then west and well, kind of ran out of tracks. I blame my guide! On the plus side, wander off the beaten track meant we got to see some great views of the city.

We also managed to come across some wild kangaroos in a scene not dissimilar to Monty Python’s ‘How not to be seen’.

We made our way back to the car park where we started and instead walked along the marked path on the southern side of the brook which lead us to the falls themselves. There was a viewing platform for some great photos and also a small path all the way down to the bottom of the valley.

That’s basically it. To make the trip last a whole day though, we did pop into the Bird and Fish Place. It’s not a restaurant, more of a weird garden centre/aviary/fish shop with dinosaurs. It’s like a zoo museum/art centre. Anyway, photos….
